VE Day 80th Anniversary Celebrations at Connell Court

At Connell Court, we proudly celebrated the VE Day 80th anniversary with a week full of meaningful activities that brought our community closer together.

The week kicked off with a heartfelt reflection service led by our chaplain. Residents, staff, and guests gathered to honour the bravery and sacrifices of those who served during World War II. The service offered a moment of quiet reflection and gratitude, reminding us all why VE Day remains such an important day in history.

Later the day, we held a joyful garden party to mark the occasion. The sun shone brightly as everyone enjoyed a traditional strawberry cream tea paired with refreshing prosecco. The atmosphere was full of laughter, smiles, and shared stories. It was wonderful to see both familiar faces and new friends come together in celebration.
